Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried: “People can’t afford to live here. If they are even able to find property insurance, the premiums are through the roof. You’re seeing in some areas, 40%, 50%, 60% increases in their premiums and that is unacceptable.” After two special legislative sessions, Ron DeSantis and the Republican supermajority gave the Insurance Companies a big bailout, AND many left citizens of Florida stranded. Floridians deserve ‘AAA property insurance. Affordable — We can keep more money in property owners’ pockets by lowering the cost of reinsurance through premium caps and rate reduction reforms.
